Digital Economy Future Directions
Posted January 22, 2009 at 3:15 pmThe Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy (DBCDE) is preparing a paper on the future directions of the digital economy in Australia which, will provide a roadmap for industry and Government to maximise Australia’s online participation.
The intention is for the Digital Economy Future Directions paper to describe the nature of the digital economy, the benefit it offers Australians and include a series of case studies highlighting some examples of Australians using the Internet in innovative ways. The attached ‘consultation draft’ aims to identify the themes and suggestions that were raised through DBCDE’s initial consultations with industry and other stakeholders and will help inform the ‘action plan’ of the Future Directions paper.
The Department and the TECC seeks your input on specific implementation steps that can be undertaken to maximise the benefits to Australia from the digital economy. Given that some people may have limited time to respond to all of the questions, please feel free to respond to only the top 3-5 issues that are a priority for you.
Please forward your submission to DEFutureDirections@dbcde.gov.au by COB on Wednesday 11 February 2009. This will assist DBCDE in achieving its aim of publishing the Digital Economy Future Directions paper in the first half of 2009.
