With the recent advertising campaign for the roll out of the NBN, the Australian  government has launched a new website detailing the latest information about the NBN, including proposed community release sites by NBN Co.  The website is a comprehensive resource for those seeking to understand the breadth and scale of the NBN construction programme.

Digital Economy Initiatives Outlined in Tasmanian State Budget 2010

The 2010 Tasmanian State government budget has highlighted several  areas of interest  around digital economy inititatives.  The TECC looks forward to working with the State government and industry in helping shape and deliver results arising from these initiatives.

These include:

• Digital Futures Strategy $2.85 m
• Digital Futures Development Fund $1 m
• Aurora National Broadband Network Skills Centre $500 000
• Resource management – SmartGrid trial $1 m
• Digital Pavilion Experience Centre $500 000
• Digital Waterfront precinct $350 000
• Connected Classrooms $1 m
• Virtual In-Home Health Care trial $1 m
