IT Policies – Tasmanian Election 2010

The  Tasmanian State election in March 2010 has seen the level of interest rise in response to what the political parties are planning in relation to future IT policies and developments, given the commencement of the NBN rollout in Tasmania.  The following links will help inform interested visitors about the IT policies from each of the parties:

Digital Infrastructure Strategy Released

dier   The State government has released its 10 year  Infrastructure Strategy, which seeks to highlight the the State’s key economic infrastructure sectors of transport, telecommunciations, energy and water. In releasing the strategy document, the State government noted that there had been extensive input from business and community leaders, along with the local government, transport, telecommunciations, water and energy sectors.

The TECC commends the release of the 10 Year Infrastructure Strategy as a means to co-ordinate Digital opportunities and to inform the Tasmanian community of the benefits that will arise from having a co-ordinated digital infrastructure approach.
